Mentorship Program
The goal of our Mentorship Program is to give you the opportunity that few of us had in our first few years of study. By pairing up with one of our AIAA Officers, we hope to help you better adapt to college life, provide you with tips on where and how to study, how to prepare for internships, and to ultimately provide you with a solid support system to help you navigate your way through UCF and the engineering curriculum.
Some other great features of our program include the exclusive tutoring we are offering to our Mentees for engineering-related classes that are below the Thermodynamics level; including Calculus, Physics, and Statics among others. We will guarantee you a spot on one of our ongoing AIAA projects to help you get integrated into the club and acquire some hands on experience.
With these resources we hope to help you excel as a student here UCF and to help build the foundation for a prolific career in engineering. So thank you for your interest in our Mentorship Program and we hope to see you with us soon!
Our Mentors
Hello my name is Justin Kanarick, a junior in Aerospace Engineering at UCF. I am currently the leader of AIAA’s Aviation Design project (having assisted last year and participated the year prior). I have a strong passion for general / commercial aviation and my dream job would be helping to research and design more efficient air breathing (within the atmosphere) flight platforms. I currently work At Lockheed Martin as Mechanical Design Intern, generating Engineering drawings and supporting manufacturing. I am the president of Aviator Knights and hold a Private Pilot License flying a Cessna 172 on trips all over Florida. If you’re ever find yourself with questions about classes, how to get an internship, learn to fly, or even how to become more involved in AIAA please do not hesitate to ask!

Madison
Hi! My name is Madison Kistler and I am a junior in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Creative Writing. I've been with AIAA for 3 years and am currently the Outreach coordinator. I've deeply enjoyed my time with AIAA and have participated in the AVD project twice. I organize AIAA volunteer events and activities. I want to work with civil-sector aircrafts within the atmosphere (executive jets or airliners preferably). My dream is to live in a world filled with innovative businesses, books bundled in extra-dark chocolate and a force field that protects my laptop from everything I may throw at it (both figuratively and literally). I'm generally in the office, so feel free to drop in and say hi or ask questions. I'm more than happy to help!
