Winner of 2013-2014 UCF Event of the Year
Aviation Design is a project for AIAA members in which teams of student get to design, build, and fly a remote control aircraft. Students will be assigned a series of missions that must be fulfilled with the design of their aircraft. The planes will be designed using SolidWorks and then tested with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software . Students will learn the importance of various design parameters and how each of these affects the flight and performance of the aircraft. Groups will also present their aircraft designs to professional engineers in the Central Florida Professional section of AIAA .
